US is experiencing an increase on vehicular suicides

Recently, leaping in front of automobiles has become a very common trend for suicides. Even a simple auto accident can cause contamination if there is a presence of blood and other fluids in or on the vehicle. Every scenario is different and the process of cleaning and restoration can range from a simple high steam cleaning of the exterior to a complex disassemble of the interior and replacement of affected components.

Vehicles that contain blood saturation most always need to be brought to the Bio Clean Service facility where our team of professionals can dismantle the components in a clean, safe environment, properly clean and disinfect the areas and install the new replacement components to restore the vehicle to a safe condition.

In regards to interior clean up, you cannot simply extract blood using steam extraction methods. Fabric areas affected by blood will need to be completely replaced. If even trace amounts of blood are not removed the site will remain hazardous, have extreme odors and attract bugs & insects.

Another misconception pertaining to auto accidents or vehicular suicides are contaminants found on a vehicles exterior. Frequently, these accidents involve pedestrians and animals and can leave behind huge amounts of bio-hazardous contaminants on and underneath the vehicle. These incidents must be handled the same way as an interior restoration and a full assessment must be made to determine the proper methods of cleaning.

Bio Clean Services warns consumers against attempting to clean a vehicle that contains these types of materials. If proper procedures are not taken to restore the vehicle, it is often times extremely difficult for a professional to restore components that have been improperly cleaned or disinfected. This leads to additional costs and replacement of components that may not be necessary if assessed and performed by a professional immediately after the accident.

Contact our offices today for more information on how Bio Clean Services can help you properly clean your accident vehicle and the areas we serve.

Who to call when you discover a death at home

When someone dies it can be a difficult and emotional time. It’s even more difficult if the body was unattended at the time of death or if you are the person who discovers the death. If you happen to be the unfortunate one to discover the death, it’s important to know that you need a professional bio-hazard cleaning service. Bio Clean Services currently offers services in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Unattended death can be contain numerous bio-hazards.  Almost always,  the scene contains urine, feces, blood and other bodily fluids and all are in a state of decomposition.  These tissues and fluids create an extreme risk of exposure to infectious diseases and individuals who are not properly trained should never attempt to clean these scenes.  Decomposing body fluids can contain germs, active disease and bacteria for a  very long time.  Even if an untrained cleaner wasn’t exposed to these elements, the EPA and OSHA have strict regulations on the cleaning and disposal of these types of bio-hazardous materials.

It is also common for the scene of an unattended death to have extreme odors that will remain even after removing the body.  These odors are unable to be eliminated by ordinary household cleaners, such as bleach. These household cleaning solutions will mask the odor temporarily only for them to return a few hours later. Bio Clean Services utilizes equipment to permanently remove these odors from effected materials. The chemicals we use are designed to neutralize odors at the molecular level so they won’t return.  It cannot be stressed  how important it is to hire a professional bio-hazard clean up company to clean these affected areas.

BioScene Clean Up is fully equipped to handle unattended death clean up and trauma scenes such as suicides. We maintain the equipment and advanced training to properly handle the scene of an unattended death.  Our cleaning technicians are professional and have the utmost compassion when dealing with the details of these tasks. We are compassionate in such difficult times and work efficiently to clean and restore a home to its original state.  Bio Clean Services offers an array of services that can assist you in cleaning debris, clutter and other items from these scenes.  Please see our services and qualifications section for more details.
