Blood & Trauma Cleanup Services

Blood cleanup needs come in many different forms. Bio Clean Services provides blood and biohazard cleanup from crime, death, murder, suicides and many other accident scenes. Most people assume that crime and murder and suicide scenes are typically the messiest but certain types of accidents can cause blood spread to larger areas which makes cleanup more difficult.

Death and suicide with guns in most cases involve a single shot and can be confined to a specific area. While the event itself is horrifying, visibly the scene isn’t necessarily as gruesome as someone who suffers a sever machine accident or stabbing with a knife which causes blood to spray over widespread areas. These victims are usually mobile after the accident and move around increasing the spread of blood and bodily fluids.  In this scenario, the scene can appear much worse than a gunshot and the required cleanup process can be much more difficult.

As with any type of trauma scene, blood & biohazard cleanup should only be handled by trained professionals who maintain the proper equipment and follow correct protocols to do a safe cleanup for you.  If you attempt to handle the cleanup or hire an untrained individual to assist you, you may be liable because of improper handling or life-threatening health compromises to others.

Bio Clean Services offers emergency services and we are available to help you in every step of a biohazard cleanup.  If you, or someone you know finds yourself responsible for this type of scenario, contact us immediately for proper certified biohazard cleanup.

5 things you need to know about blood

Concerns about infectious diseases found in blood are growing rapidly on a global basis. In today’s society the amount of traumatic events, crimes, suicides and other blood related traumas seems to be increasing on a daily basis. Bio Clean Services is experienced in blood, crime, trauma and other biohazard cleanup practices. Here are 5 tips that you really need to know about blood and blood cleanup.

1.    Even topical blood spots need to be handled with extreme caution. Topical spots usually mean a perimeter of about 12 to 18 inches surrounding the blood source.  What most people don’t realize is that blood, when splattered in an area can have trace elements that contain infectious diseases and other dangerous pathogens become airborne or land in areas several feet away from the source. This causes hidden dangers as these elements are not easily seen or thought about.

2.    Blood that soaks into carpet, flooring or other material must be handled by a specialist trained in biohazard removal.  Often times after carpet or other porous surfaces are removed, the sub elements (sub-flooring, wood, furniture) must be completely removed and disposed of to remediate the potential of further contamination.

3.    It’s rare that you know the exact health status of a person who sustains blood loss from instances like suicides, crime and traumatic accidents. Because the status is unknown, you must assume that it’s likely infectious and employ a professional biohazard cleanup company to properly clean and remove any blood biohazards.

4.    Blood spills on carpet CAN NOT be cleaned or removed by a professional carpet cleaning company. If you find a company that will actually do this work, be prepared that the presence of blood stains, odors and most likely the presence of bugs and insects will occur shortly after the cleanup is complete.  Blood must be cleaned up or removed using specialized equipment and chemicals that are usually only available to professionally trained technicians like the ones at Bio Clean Services.

5.    If a traumatic accident, death or suicide occurs in commercial or institutional buildings, it is the employer or administrators responsibility to make sure that an emergency plan for blood/bodily fluid cleanup is followed.  Companies have a higher risk associated with these scenes because of the number of people that are usually in a concentrated area where incidents occur.

These are only a few of many facts that you should know about blood and bodily fluid clean up.  If you experience an incident containing blood spills, contact us immediately for more information and assistance with cleaning the incident scene.

Red light camera accidents and the biohazards associated with them

In recent months the controversy has grown over whether or not red light cameras should be removed because of the amount of accidents and rear end collisions being caused by their presence. Bio Clean Services provides blood and biohazard cleanup associated with accident scenes, trauma scenes and sites that contain medical biohazards and waste from police or emergency personnel.

When traffic accidents occur, emergency responders act very quick to attend to injuries and remove victims from harm. After the scene is cleared if there is a presence of blood, bodily fluids or medical waste, these hazards must be remediated. We are often called to accident scenes to handle these types of cleanup because we maintain the certifications and permits necessary to ensure proper site cleanup and are experienced in practicing thorough cleaning that assures the health and safety of others in or around the accident scene.

Most people don’t realize that accident scenes that contain blood spills and biohazards on surfaces like roadways, auto exteriors, in broken glass and other elements can be spread and carried distances by other vehicles, can affect cleanup crews, tow truck drivers and even onlookers who may be near the scene.  Wet blood can be sprayed on people if cars drive through it, tow truck drivers have to enter the interior of vehicles that contain possible infectious diseases from blood and bodily fluids and so on.

Bio Clean Services technicians are experienced in many forms of blood and biohazard cleanup.  We provide services for Trauma, Death, Accident, Suicide, Crime and other potentially dangerous biohazard scenes. Serving Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia we are specialists in insurance claims and assistance programs that aide victims of crimes and tragedies.
